“An Amazon Adventure-In 4-Part Harmony”
Chisholm Trail Chorus of Sweet Adelines International is leading a fictitious boat trip down the Amazon River on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, at the Cultural Activities Center in Temple, TX. Join this a cappella women’s group as they sing their way through “An Amazon Adventure in 4-Part Harmony.” The show begins at 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.cacarts.org for $20 in advance or $25 at the door. All seats are reserved and handicapped seating is available. During the Amazon Adventure, tour guide Lily Paddington tries to keep her tourists focused on the scenery while botanist Dr. Flora d’Vine shares her unique knowledge along the way. Many surprises await as they sing their way back to the dock. A silent auction and cash-and-carry small plant sale begin at 3 p.m. to support the chorus’ Amazon Adventure. Returning highlights to the show are guest performers 2022 Sweet Adeline Diamond Division Quartet International Champions, Madison Avenue; and a live cake auction after intermission. Chisholm Trail Chorus is a women's a cappella chorus that presents jazz vocals, choreographed pop tunes and award-winning harmony to the community through weekly education classes and frequent performances throughout Central Texas. The group is directed by Carol Scherer and members live across Texas -- from Temple and Belton to Troy, Copperas Cove, Killeen, Harker Heights, Rogers, Little River, Pflugerville, Axtell and El Paso. Open rehearsals are every Thursday night at the Cultural Activities Center, 3011 North 3rd St., Temple beginning at 7 p.m. Auditions are held continually throughout the year and visitors are always welcome to attend rehearsal. |
